Step 1: Install Green Backup Pro

Begin by installing Green Backup Pro on your WordPress site. Activate the plugin and navigate to the Green Backup settings, paying special attention to the DigitalOcean Spaces tab.

Step 1: Once you have purchased the right plan for you, log in to your GreenWPX member area to download the plugin and copy the activation key.

  1. Download and save the plugin zip file to your desktop.
  2. Copy your Serial key.

Step 2: Install the plugin on your WordPress site.

  1. On your WordPress Dashboard click on the Plugins on the left side menu.
  2. On The Plugins page click “Add New Plugin”.

  2. Click “Install Now”

  2. Click the “Activate” button.

Step 2: Set Up Dropbox Account

Start by searching for “Dropbox Developer” on Google. If you don’t have a Dropbox account, create one.

Once there, log into your Dropbox account and click on “Create apps.”

Choose “Scoped Access,” select “App folder” as the type of access, then give your app a name and click on “Create app.”

Once the app is created, note the app folder name where your backups will be saved.

Step 3: Create Dropbox App for Authentication

Copy the app key .

In the Green Backup settings, choose Dropbox, then paste the app key.

Copy the app secret.

Paste it in the Green Backup settings.

Now copy the redirected link provided .

Replace it on the redirect URLs field, ensuring to click add .

Next, go to the Permission tab and select “files.content.write,” then click “Submit.”

Make sure to save the Green Backup settings.

Step 4: Test the Connection

Once done, head back to the Dropbox settings and click on the authentication button.

Click continue .

And allow access to the app, and voila! Your Green Backup is now seamlessly connected with Dropbox.

Step 5: Create a Dropbox Backup

With Green Backup Pro configured, head to the Backups tab. Create a new backup, selecting Dropbox as the storage location. Choose your preferred backup components and click ‘Create Backup’. Watch the backup progress bar complete, and once done, you can verify your Dropbox folder to confirm the successful upload. Your WordPress site is now securely stored on Dropbox.

Step 6: Schedule Backups to Dropbox

No more manual backups! In Green Backup settings, go to Schedule, Add New. Name your schedule, choose Dropbox as the storage location, and customize the backup frequency (hourly, daily, weekly, or monthly). Enable the schedule, and you’re all set.

Step 7: Restore from Dropbox

Accidents happen, and if you ever need to restore your site, it’s a breeze. Download the backup from Dropbox based on the file name, which includes the date and time it was taken.

Utilize the import feature in Green Backup to restore it. Import the backup file that you just downloaded from Dropbox, then click on “Upload Backup.”

Once the progress bar is done, click on “Restore This Backup.”

Lastly, just confirm by clicking “Okay,” bringing your WordPress site back to the date specified in the file name.
